Who is behind Pittsburgh Senior Advisor?
Pittsburgh Senior Advisor is part of a network of independent senior-care referral sites; the Pittsburgh site is run by a care team that works with families across the seven counties around the city, and every page is checked against primary sources before it is published.
We are not a government agency, a facility operator or a health plan. We are a referral service, and partner communities pay us when a family we helped moves in.
How does Pittsburgh Senior Advisor make money?
Licensed communities that partner with us pay a referral fee after a family we introduced moves in; families never pay us anything, and the fee does not change what the family pays the community.
Because of that arrangement we publish every licensed home on the state roster, not only partners, and we never rank homes by whether they pay us.
Where does the facility data on this site come from?
Personal care home and assisted living residence data comes from the Pennsylvania DHS Human Services Provider Directory (retrieved October 28, 2026); nursing home, hospice and home health data comes from the CMS Provider Data Catalog (processed October 1, 2026).
See our editorial standards for how we handle corrections.
Which areas does Pittsburgh Senior Advisor serve?
We serve families looking for care anywhere in Allegheny, Westmoreland, Butler, Washington, Beaver, Fayette and Armstrong counties, from the city of Pittsburgh and its suburbs to county seats such as Greensburg, Butler, Washington, Beaver, Uniontown and Kittanning; 43 towns have their own page and every licensed home in the seven counties is in the directory.
Why focus on the public record?
Because Pennsylvania publishes no rating for personal care homes, the DHS license, capacity, dementia unit and inspection history are the most reliable facts a family can get before touring; we put those records first so families can compare homes on the same footing.
How does working with an advisor work?
You answer a short set of questions about care needs, timing, location and budget, a local advisor calls to fill in details, and you receive a short list of licensed homes or agencies that fit, with their DHS or CMS records, then decide which to tour; there is no charge and no obligation.
If public programs such as OPTIONS, LIFE or Community HealthChoices fit better than a move, the advisor will say so and point you to the county Area Agency on Aging.
